How I can help

Counselling, psychotherapy, behavioural therapy, special education support and rehabilitation counselling — for children, adolescents, adults and families.

Individual counselling

Focused, one-to-one sessions for difficulties that are affecting daily life right now.

  • Anxiety, worry and stress
  • Low mood and motivation
  • Self-esteem and self-doubt
  • Grief, loss and adjustment
  • Relationship and family difficulties
  • Work, study and life transitions

Psychotherapy

Deeper therapeutic work for patterns that keep returning, drawing on cognitive behavioural and related evidence-based approaches.

  • Persistent anxiety and depressive patterns
  • Emotional regulation difficulties
  • Trauma-related distress
  • Long-standing relational patterns
  • Identity, meaning and life direction

Behavioural therapy

Structured, measurable programmes that change what happens day to day — built with the family, not handed to it.

  • Challenging behaviour in children and adolescents
  • Skill-building and independence training
  • Routines, transitions and daily structure
  • Attention, impulsivity and self-control
  • Habit change in adults

Special education support

As an RCI-licensed special educator, I design and deliver individualised learning support.

  • Individualised Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Remedial teaching for reading, writing and maths
  • Support for specific learning difficulties
  • Developmental delay and neurodivergent learners
  • School liaison and classroom accommodations

Rehabilitation counselling

Psychological support for people living with disability or long-term conditions, and for those who care for them.

  • Adjustment to diagnosis or disability
  • Coping, resilience and capacity building
  • Family and caregiver support
  • Vocational and educational planning
  • Navigating services and entitlements

Parent guidance & psychoeducation

Because most of a child's progress happens between sessions, at home.

  • Making sense of an assessment report
  • Behaviour management strategies for home
  • Supporting learning without daily conflict
  • Sibling and family dynamics
  • Working effectively with your child's school

Assessment

Psychological & educational assessment

Where a clearer picture is needed before therapy or educational planning can begin, I carry out structured assessment — using standardised tools alongside interviews, observation and, where relevant, input from school.

An assessment typically covers developmental and family history, current functioning, cognitive and academic profile where indicated, and behavioural or emotional presentation. You receive a written report in plain language, a face-to-face discussion of what it means, and specific recommendations you can actually act on.

Please note. The right assessment depends on the question being asked. I will discuss with you beforehand what is appropriate, what it involves, and what it will and will not tell us — and I will say so if an assessment is not what you need.

Practicalities

Sessions

Formats

Sessions are available in person and online by secure video call. Some assessment and remedial work is best done face to face; I will let you know if that applies to you.

Length and frequency

A standard session runs about 45–60 minutes. Initial consultations and assessment sessions may run longer. Most people begin weekly and taper as things improve — but frequency is agreed between us, not fixed in advance.

Fees

Fees vary by service — consultation, ongoing therapy, assessment and school liaison are charged differently. Please write to me for the current schedule; I will always confirm the fee before we begin so there are no surprises.

Cancellations

Please give at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule, so the slot can be offered to someone else.
